[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text][text_output]We’ve been told a lot about Puerto Rico and have researched a ton and I’m sure we will still have a bunch of surprises, good and bad. One thing that we don’t want to take a chance on is where we will live. There is a web site called classificadosonline.com it’s a great place to get a good idea of what kind of houses/condos are available. however; I wouldn’t take my chances renting site unseen. Maybe if it was just Ryan and I but with 4 kids we’ve got to be a little more cautious.[/text_output][image type=”none” float=”none” link=”true” target=”blank” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” src=”6677″ href=”http://www.scribblemaps.com/maps/view/First Week In PR/”][text_output]We have decided on living on the West side of the island. From what we see online, we really like Aguadilla and Isabella. Our first night we will book a hotel in San Juan and then head to the West side of the island where we have a one week vacation rental we found on HomeAway.com We looked for something with a lot of reviews and they’re all 5 stars so we think this is a safe bet. We want to start off with a little comfort. The one week rental is probably way nicer that the house we will actually be living in. :)[/text_output][image type=”none” float=”none” link=”true” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” src=”6675″ href=”http://www.scribblemaps.com/maps/view/House hunting PR/”][text_output]During the first week we will have a realtor take us around to different rental properties. Everything from condos on the beach to little houses a few minutes from the beach. I would like to look from Isabela to Rincon. We’ll see if that’s realistic. Our friend has already connected us with a great realtor so we should be good to go. Everyone I’ve talked to has said that one week is plenty of time to find a place. Our qualifications are at least 3 bdr. + 2 bath, air conditioning, furnished and a safe area. I’ll let you know if it’s as easy as I think it’s going to be. 🙂
42 Days to take off![/text_output]
***UPDATE*** It was not as easy as I thought it would be! With kids one week is not long enough to learn the area and choose somewhere to live. We ended up extending out vacation rental to 2 weeks and still barely found and got into a place we liked. If I were to do it again, I would get a vacation rental for a month. That would have taken so much of the pressure off.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
