We started at an Ice Cream shop called, The Creamistry, in Long Beach. They make Ice Cream right in front of you by using liquid nitrogen. It was cool watching it be made.
Our next stop was to go see the shipping containers coming into the Port of L.A. It was cool to show the kids where all of their clothes are coming in from.
Then off to Little Tokyo where we got to try Mochi. Mochi’s an ice cream wrapped in some sort of glutonous rice. Some us us loved it and some didn’t. It’s very different but cool to try!
Our next stop was Philippe’s French Dips. Where the original French dip was made! They were actually really good! The place was packed which says something about the great food. I thought about taking a pic but must not have because I can’t find it. Darn!
After our delicious French Dip it was time for desert … again!
We went to Olvera street where we walked aroud the cute little shops and finished off with a churro from Mr. Churro. These aren’t just any churros, these are filled. Our favorites were custard, Leche, and Guava.
Every year on Olvera Street, they have the blessing of the animals here. It’s where everyone can bring their pets and animals to get blessed. There were a lot of dogs walking around but they’ll bless any animal.
We had to walk off some of this food so that we’d be hungry for dinner. We walked over to China Town. It’s fun to walk around to all of the little shops and stands there. Dylan bought some nunchucks which he’s really excited to use. 🙂
Ashley really wanted to go to Hollywood. Not for the reason you think. There’s a candy shop there that has candy bars that you can choose all of the ingredients and they’ll make it for you. She really wanted to do it the last time we were here but they were closed.
After making her dreams come true 😉 We headed out to dinner. Because, as you can imagine, we were al Starving. Haha!
We went to dinner at a diner that’s been around for a long time. It was so good! We were so full that between the 8 of us we couldn’t finish one piece of cheesecake.
Thank you Doug and Mark for an AMAZING day!
