We stopped in Midway (MAP) for Lunch at Wildfire Smokhaus at the Zermatt Resort in Midway. It was DELICIOUS!
From there we decided to go back over near Guardsman’s, probably a 30 min detour, on our way to a lake we’d never been to called, Mirror Lake.
Side note: We love driving with our kids, some of them love it more than others but the way they all get through it is with a good audio book. Right now we’re listening to the final book in the Heroes of Olympus series.
So, we’re driving to mirror lake and we saw a sign that said, “Provo River Falls”. We never hesitate to stop somewhere that there could be an adventure! We stopped to walk around and were so glad we did! The waterfalls were amazing! I can’t believe we didn’t even know this place existed. It’s not the kind of waterfall that we’d play in … not this time of year anyway. The water was really fast. I guess there were a few little pools that may have been safe to wade around in.
Anyway, we hiked around, took a lot of pictures and watched the waterfalls forever. They start pretty close to the dirt parking lot (There is a little bathroom here) and go clear down the canyon. i didn’t even see the end of them. Absolutely beautiful!
After the waterfalls we continued on to mirror lake. It was so funny but by the time we got there we didn’t really care about the lake and didn’t even get out or take a picture. We were also down so low on gas that we knew we’d barely make it back to a small town to fill up. So off we went, our adventuresome side fulfilled.
The closest town with anything to eat or any gas is Kamas Utah. We headed straight there. When we got there I recognized this little shake shop that I used to get shakes at on my way to girls camp every year. Of course, we had to stop there for a shake before heading home.
Here’s to another Bradshaw Family adventure!
