The boys went to take out the trash this morning and came back with a baby iguana. They’ve decided to keep it for just one day because of the cost involved in cages, lights, ect. I can’t believe they found this on the way to the trash. It’s scared to death but I’m hoping it’ll calm down. In the mean time the boys are super excited, cutting up fruit and reading up on Iguana facts.

Dylan’s been running down to give me updates on what they’ve learned about every 2 minutes. Here he comes again. LOL He just said, “Mom! They’re pretty much born potty trained because he’ll just go to the bathroom in the water we give him. We better change his water because of the gross stuff.” Haha! I think he’s right.
Hi Guys:
We live outside of San Juan and have Iguanas all over – lots of fun! I used to keep them for a pet as well.
Be VERY careful – Iguanas carry salmonella and my brother was hospitalized after handling ours. Be sure to wash your hands after handling. Other than that, they are wonderful pets.
Thank you for the heads up! I’ve been hounding them to wash their hands. That’s one reason I’m glad they’re not keeping it. The iguana has been returned to the wild but it was fun for a bit. 🙂
