Miracles

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][text_output]We bought a really old car when we got here. It’s not pretty and it’s a challenge driving something that has problems. I hate that the doors don’t unlock with the fob and that the driver’s seat is reclined a little too far back and won’t move. I did feel good about buying this particular car because we could avoid debt and it was the best one that we had to choose from.

Well, last night when we were heading out to the pool, I noticed that the brake lights were on and I couldn’t get them to turn off. Even though I have a dad who’s majorly obsessed about cars, I have no idea how to fix anything on a car. I did know, however, that if I didn’t fix the problem my battery would be dead in the morning and I haven’t taken the time to buy jumper cables yet.

As I was frantically looking online to see how to get them to turn off, I finally decided I would just pull the fuze, if I could find it. All the while I’m saying to myself, “I hate this crappy car. It doesn’t work right and I so sick of it!” Then, I remembered a conversation I had with a friend earlier that morning about gratitude and faith. A conversation where I committed to looking forward with faith instead of fear. I took a deep breath while reminding myself that it would be ok and we would be taken care of.

Right after that breath, I heard a man yell, asking, in Spanish, if I needed help. I told him I was fine but he replied with, in English, “is there a problem?” I told him that the lights wouldn’t turn off. This man, Ricardo, knew exactly what the problem was! He used the little flashlight on his phone and found a little broken piece that makes the brake lights turn off. Here’s the coolest part, this guy’s got the part that I need to fix my lights up in his condo! No kidding! He goes up to his condo and comes down with the part that I need. He’s not even a mechanic!

It is no mistake or coincidence that a man, who speaks English, who knows how to fix cars, who has the part I need in his condo, comes out just as I need him!

I am so grateful to know that I have a Heavenly Father who is watching out for our family. I’m grateful that this man was the type the Lord could trust to send. I know the Lord works through us to answer each other’s prayers. This was such a huge lesson to me of the importance of walking in faith and trusting that we’ll be taken care of. I’m so grateful![/text_output][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Wow…I totally teared up reading that post! I wish I had your faith, Jen! I listened to this audiobook recently and she gave a challenge that for 12 months you keep a journal and record all the “coincidental” occurances that happen in your life. She was certain that if it was something we committed ourselves to that at the end of the 12 months we would undeniably see God’s hand in our lives. But you’ve always been great about seeing it! Love you so much lady!
