Hurricane Gonzolo Makes Waves

Last week a hurricane formed that was heading for Puerto Rico. We got all prepared with extra food and a water supply but luckily the hurricane turned just enough to miss us. Our Prayers go out to those in Antigua, St. Martin, Bermuda, The UK and the other islands that the hurricane did affect.

The only effects of the hurricane that we are seeing is HUGE waves. We went to Jobos today where the waves were a lot bigger than usual. We stayed away from any beaches that usually have big waves because the waves today are too big us.

I just got caught up on your blog. What a wonderful adventure you are having. I hope all is still going well.

    1. It’s so good to hear from you Marj! We’re still doing good. I hope you and your family are too!

  2. Jenny, I just saw your blog and I love it. We also just arrived here in PR inn May of this year. We stayed with family for 3 long weeks and finally found a house to rent for my hubby, me and our 18 years old grandson non Spanish speaking who is living with us in Quebradilla . It is the town to the east of Isabela.

We love it here and I being a native New Yorker of Puerto Rican parents very surprised that I adjusted so quickly. My hubby is originally from San German, so he feels right at home. We are somewhat familiar with the area since he was stationed at Ramey over 45 years ago and lived in Aguadilla.

Have you and your family moved here permanately or it is just temp.? We are here to stay since we are retired and very happy to be here. We have had some trials and challenges but finally are getting our home situated after 3 months now that we finally got our furniture. Welcome to Puerto Rico.

    1. Hi Maria! It’s so good to hear from you!

Ya, we don’t live too far from you. 🙂 We are planning to be here for a year and a half.

It’s awesome to hear that you’ve chosen PR to retire to. I’m sure your family is so happy to have you around! There are so many good people here, as you know. That has made our adjustment to PR so much easier. I’m glad that you’ve been able to adjust quickly and that you’ve gotten you’re furniture! Congrats on your move! I hope everything keeps going great for you!
