Our Suitcases pretty much just have to get us to Puerto Rico and that’s it. We won’t have anywhere to store the suitcases, so they will have to go when we get there. Our original plan was to have 6 suitcases, 6 carry-ons and 6 backpacks. After doing a lot of suitcase hunting and talking to some friends that have done this before, we have decided to go with these super cheap but durable duffle bags from Walmart.

I didn’t think I wanted duffle bags because they’re so awkward and I love the organization that comes with a square, strong, suitcase. I also like that suitcases are generally easy to roll. Until I talked to my friend I was really worried about how my 6 year old was going to get his suitcase from the baggage claim to the car rental place. Especially because I’ve heard we have to take a shuttle. We’ll see when we get there. My friend reassured me that we will be able to pay a porter to load our luggage on a trolly and help us. She should know. She’s lived in China and just moved to Brazil with 17 suitcases and 3 kids all while expecting a baby! If she can do that then I can definitely do this. 🙂
