We decided that instead of focusing on all the things that are happening and all of the outcomes of the tests, we are going to focus on loving this precious little girl and giving her our attention. We realized that if we keep letting all the ups and downs control how we are feeling, we are in for a very unpleasant stay here. I’m sure we will still have very emotional times and things that scare us but I’m sure by focusing more on loving every moment with Grace we will be in a much better place and so will she.
Last night, she started throwing up again, so they have stopped her feeding and are now just giving her nutrition through her IV. She hasn’t thrown up since they stopped feeding her. She also had a fever yesterday which seems to have resolved itself which is great. We hope it’s gone for good.
They just did an ultra-sound of her left chest to see if there is more fluid there and to determine if they need to put another chest tube in. Hopefully things look good and they don’t have to put the chest tube in.
Thank you to all of you for your words of encouragement and love. We truly feel more at peace knowing there are so many people supporting us and Grace.
Grace has already blessed so many lives. So many people have expressed to us how much love they feel for her and how much she has changed their perspective on life and what is important. It’s amazing to me how much a little tiny 2 week old person can have such an amazing influence on so many of us. We are blessed to be her parents.

10:00am – They did an ultrasound this morning and found more fluid in the left chest. They are going to take her to the operating room for a second chest tube here in a few minutes.
Hoping it goes smooth.
The procedure went well and they drained a lot of fluid right away. We will see how things go. Hopefully thing start heading in a good direction.
Gracie is doing pretty good after the surgery. She is still draining a lot of fluid but she seems content. They are going to try to let her rest tonight.
If things go well they might try to ween her off the ventilator tomorrow.
She won’t get any food for 3 days to try to fix the Chylothorax issue and then they will start to slowly add feeding back in. They will closely monitor any fluid to see if the issue has corrected itself or if they need to do something different.
Hoping for a good night.
