Geocaching

Have you ever heard of Geocaching? It’s so much fun! It’s like a little treasure hunt you can do with your family. People all over the world have hidden little treasures in funny little places. When you find the treasure you can usually write your name and where you’re from on a little log that the person will also leave. We did this with our kids today. Surprisingly, there were 8 hidden really close to our house.

First you get an app like the one called, “Geocaching”.

The way we did it was by clicking the button that said, “Find Nearby Geocaches” You can follow a map or a compass straight to the spot where something is hidden. Sometimes there isn’t anything other than the log hidden. It’s fun to read the names of others who have been there and to see where they’re from. There’s also always a hint. It think it would be almost impossible to find without the hint.

We couldn’t find the first one we looked for but the next 2 were easy.

 

 

One was hidden between 2 pieces of this broken fence. I don’t know if you can see that tiny white paper in my hand. That’s the log. The kids, even Jordan thought this was a blast.

Of course, we couldn’t resist getting into the water while we were out. Everyone, except Jordan. This is a picture of him waiting on the beach for us.
