The road up to Guajataca Lake is a tiny one-lane road with cars going both ways. I’m glad we didn’t have much competition for the road! The coolest drive! It was cliff’s down one one side and cliffs up on the other, covered in Bamboo and jungle plants.
John and Dylan fished non-stop catching nothing but enjoying time with their friends.
I don’t think Ashley touched a fishing pole but had a lot of fun catching tiny frogs
and hanging out with the girls. It was beautiful up there!
Jordan came late from EFY (a youth camp) at Albergue Olímpico in Salinas.
The lake was breezy and cool. For awhile it looked like it was going to rain but it didn’t.
Someone next to where we were caught this crazy huge gold fish! They gave it to us so we, (meaning my super amazing friend Betsy) cleaned, cooked and ate it! It tasted like chicken. Haha Watch the video.
You can hear me screaming when the fish starts flopping around. Betsy’s the cool, calm one.
No one caught a fish all day until, John’s friend, Ricado caught one after 6 hours of fishing! We love this patient boy!
After fishing we met up with the Riggs family, find a secluded beach to play on in Aguadilla (even though it’s the busiest beach day of the year) and end the night with a yummy dinner at Textura, one of our FAVORITE (not too crowded)restaurants. Yum Yum!
Nothing like having friends to spend the 4th of July with!
P.S. Did you know you can throw a flower firework into the water and it will stay lit and still spin!
To Kassie: I can picture you thinkng, “Haha, Jenny’s a wimp.” Yes I am when it comes to fish. The End! ]
Thanks to Ryan for the pictures!
