Don Frappé y Don Maceta

We found an awesome restaurant. It’s called Don Maceta. Sooo good! This tops the charts of food we’ve eaten in Puerto Rico.  The kids and I sat down to eat. I looked at the menu and was shocked at the prices until Ryan informed me that the food was family style and HUGE! That rack of ribs was $32 and more than fed our family of 6. It came with tostonas (fried plantains) and potato wedges. Ashley wanted a bowl of broccoli cheese soup which was also reasonably priced. Here’s a map to help you find it if you’re moving to or visiting Puerto Rico. MAP It was really easy to find.

Super crowed, to the point that we thought we might have to leave but we were seated in 5 minutes.  The service was awesome. Really fast and friendly. The food was delicious. My kids said they’re the best ribs they’ve ever had. Our waitress spoke English so that was nice too. 🙂

The restaurant was a bonus. The real reason we came was to get a Frappé from Don Frappé (the attached shop). We’d heard about it from our friends in Rincon. How do I describe a Frappé? Hmmm.. Like a milk shake but less milky, just as tasty and just as filling. We each got a Frappé after dinner. Not one of us finished more than half so we will definitely share next time. Yes, you can order your Frappé from the restaurant. No extra line!
