Cueva del Viento (Cave of the Wind) Isabela

Today our local friends took us to an awesome cave in the mountains of Isabela. I love Isabela because it’s so diverse. We can be at the beach one day and hiking in the jungle mountains the next. For more info about how to get to the cave you can Click Here.

There are a couple of hikes on the trail.

It was about a 45 minute hike with kids and super easy.

There’s a beautiful lookout about 1/4 of the way up. We’re so lucky to have all of these people in our lives. 🙂

These beans are from a tree in the jungle. This is what they put in maracas. Don’t eat them, they’re poisonous.

After about 45 min. in the trail led us to this wooden staircase to the cave.

The cave was different than the Camuy caves because It’s less touristy. I like that there are no signs, no tours, no rails to hold onto. It’s slippery in there partly because of the water and partly because of the bat poo. 🙂 It’s also surprisingly big. Here are our super cool cave pics…

Thanks to all of of friends for an awesome hike! It reminded me of hiking in Utah. We felt right at home hiking in the mountains of Isabela!
