- Learning Spanish is not going to be optional. I say, “Mi español es muy poquito” too many times a day to count and I’m probably saying it wrong.
- When people told us that we would only be able to get one thing done a day here they were exaggerating. It takes 2.
- Jumping into a crystal clear, warm ocean from an old rusty pier is a blast!
- Everyone is super easy going, patient and nice to us when we tell them we don’t speak Spanish.
- The power goes out here a lot but comes back on really fast. So far anyway. 🙂
- We are going to go through a bottle of Terrashield (insect repellant) every week. Hopefully the mosquitos will get tired of biting us. I have only seen one mesquite but have 10 bites.
- Having 4 kids is a shocking number. Enough for people to stare, point, comment and then comment again.
- Driving here is like go-kart racing.
- People take time for people. They’re not so rushed. They never get upset when someone takes forever in the grocery line or when someone needs to get over in traffic. People come first here. I like that.
- We are going to love it here!

Dillon! Hey little man, it was fun watching you jump off the pier. You are brave. Lots of fun watching you guys. What a great family. I spent the day with Abhe and her kids. They had Dr.
appointments, and they took me to lunch, then I watched Trinity at her dance class. They are such a joy to me. No baby yet. Probably 2 more weeks. They’ll soon be off to Malaysia. Love you guys, Nikki aka Sister Card
This is all SO right on!
